PERTH REDBACKS – Director of Coaching and Development

The Perth Basketball Association has an exciting new role for a Director of Coaching & Development. This integral role will oversee coach development throughout the Association, whilst specifically overseeing our representative pathway. The part-time role will be responsible for developing coaches and overseeing the structure of our representative programs.

Perth Basketball Association has made strong progress on and off the court over the past 12 months and this role is a key component to our future growth. Whilst the role is part-time (20 hours per week), with the right candidate, it has the potential to develop into a full-time role in the future.

Our representative teams compete in the Western Australian Basketball League (WABL) at our home base in Victoria Park on Sundays and opposition venues. The “Redbacks” currently have 24 junior teams from Under 12 to Under 20 with a strong focus on “holistic” development. Our Board has a strong vision of growing and developing our members as people and athletes/coaches/officials. Our vision is to implement strong structure, processes and strategies that will see our teams and members have sustained success on and off the court.

The successful candidate will be excluded from coaching within the WABL competition and will be offered a remuneration package commensurate with their experience.

Selection Criteria

• Extensive experience in basketball coaching
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to all coaches
• Willing to learn and be a positive role model
• Current Working with Children check
