Business Development Manager – Extended

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this senior management position will be responsible for identifying and realising strategic business and revenue opportunities for Basketball WA. This exciting and challenging role will involve:

  • In conjunction with the CEO, liaising with, developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, including members, Government (State and Local) Sponsors, Basketball Australia and other Basketball Associations.
  • The provision of advice to the CEO on the most appropriate and effective strategies to grow and develop basketball in Western Australia and Basketball WA as a business.
  • Managing BWA’s sponsorship and grants program and enhancing existing relationships to build stronger partnerships with sponsors and funding organisations.
  • Developing and implementing appropriate strategic and tactical marketing plans.

    This position is well suited to a strategic and creative thinker who is a “self starter”, has an abundance of energy and has excellent leadership and management skills. Excellent relationship building and written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to produce high quality documentation and achieve desired outcomes within a specified timeframe.

    Experience in the areas of marketing, technology and sports sponsorship/partnerships and 5-8 years experience in Business development are desirable.
