Casual Employment Opportunity – Development Officers

Basketball WA is seeking to employ some casual development officers on a temporary basis delivering Basketball Development Clinics at primary schools as part of the “Smarter Than Smoking” Association Cup Program.

Casual Development Officers will be required to:

  • Teach primary school children basketball skills through a series of fun drills and games.
  • Encourage children to join their local basketball association.
  • Promote the “Smarter Than Smoking” message which is about making healthy lifestyle choices.

Clinics generally run for 1 to 2 hours between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm at the schools that have registered for the program.

The positions are paid on a casual rate with travel costs taken into account, and school visits continue through till early November 2013. Further opportunities will exist in early 2014 when the program recommences.

Dates and locations of clinics are currently being booked with the majority of clinics being in the Perth, East Perth, Cockburn, Kalamunda and Mandurah regions.

All Development Officers will be required to have a Working With Children Check completed. Those who do not have one will need to complete one prior to commencing school visits.

Interested parties may be required to submit a brief summary of previous basketball experience with references.
