Employment: Community Basketball Administrator

An exciting opportunity has become available to work for Basketball WA in the role of the BWA Community Basketball Administrator. This is a 12 month maternity leave position. This is an exciting time for Basketball in WA and a great time to join the State Sporting Association.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this key role will be responsible for:

  • To administer country basketball, including liaison with Country Basketball Associations and the Country Working Group in preparation for and conduct of Country Cup and Country Championships.
  • Support Basketball WA member Associations in providing advice and support in relation to the development of a business/work plan that addresses the particular needs of the Member Association, including aspects of:
  • Governance
  • Volunteer Recruitment and Management
  • Information Communication Technology
  • Sponsorship/Grants and Marketing
  • Participation initiatives
  • Infrastructure
  • Administer and promote the Inclusion Basketball Program, including the areas of Indigenous, Intellectually Disabled, Deaf and CALD basketball and work with the CEO and external agencies to develop and grow these programs.

This position is well suited to a person who has a passion for community development. The ability to develop excellent relationships within the Basketball WA community, with high level of written and oral communication skills is essential.
