Meet our newest Basketball WA Staff

Basketball WA have recently appointed new staff to our Metro office.

Meet the Team:

Lauren Gandini (Integrity and Member Protection Support Officer)

Lauren Gandini is working with BWA as an Integrity and Member Protection Support Officer to review policies and provide support to Associations and members. She comes to BWA following a legal career at the ANF and a non-profit legal centre, with experience as a Tribunal Chairperson for local sporting Associations.

She played in the State Basketball League (now known as NBL1) between 2009 – 2020 for Cockburn Cougars and Willetton Tigers and is on the NBL1 Commission.

Nathan Robertson (Competitions Administrator)

Nathan Robertson has recently joined Basketball WA as a Competitions Administrator, overseeing the operations of the Perth Metropolitan Basketball League (PMBL) and the event delivery of the Fuel to Go and Play BWA Country Championships. He comes to BWA in a full time capacity after having extensive involvement as a Games Controller across many BWA events and competitions.

A domestic player for Warwick for over 22 years, Nathan also referees (WABL and Domestic) and continues to assist with Score bench duties, 24 year’s and counting. : (FIBA Accredited – WABL, SBL/NBL1, WNBL, NBL, NWBL, International Friendlies (Australia v Canada Perth,2019), Australian Junior Champs, 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup (September 2022)

Jessie Goodluck (Participation Officer)

Jessie Goodluck has recently joined Basketball WA as our Participation Officer. Jessie comes to BWA with a wealth of basketball experience. Jessie played basketball in Kansas and Hawaii and graduated last year online while living in Darwin due to Covid.

Jessie then worked for Basketball NT as their Digital and Social Media Manager and Coach in remote communities. Also worked in support work with children and adults with intellectual disabilities, in sport and recreational activities.

Jessie then moved to Perth in October and joined the Participation Team part time/started full time in January.

She is passionate about developing the Indigenous basketball space and working in remote communities to bring the game of basketball alive.

Currently playing for the Warwick Senators Women’s NBL1 team
