COACHING DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Reporting to the WBA Coaching Director, the Coaching Development Officer will coordinate and oversee all aspects of coaching development & support requirements for the Willetton Basketball Association Inc.
Objectives of the role include, but are not limited to:
– Assisting State Basketball League (SBL) head coaches to develop their coaching development program in line with the WBA coaching and development philosophy;
– Establishing a high level of coaching skill and knowledge across WBA’s coaching environment;
– Monitoring and promote the accreditation of WBA coaches and ongoing development of coaches, including facilitation and/or delivery of both community coach courses and coach education clinics throughout the year.
Essential requirements of the role
I. A current Basketball Australia Association Coach (Level 2) accreditation or Club Coach (Level 1) accreditation actively involved in attaining Association Coach accreditation.
II. Minimum five years experience in coaching at representative level
III. Experience in High Performance basketball development programs.
IV. Experience in managing subordinates.
V. Well-developed organisational skills.
VI. Ability to adapt to meet developing trends in basketball and communicate accordingly to the relevant WBA coaching community.
VII. Willingness to participate in professional development activities.
VIII. Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
IX. Sound computer literacy skills including experience with Windows and Microsoft Office.
X. Working With Children (WWC) clearance.
