VENUE DUTY OFFICER
LOCATION : Bendat Basketball Centre, Floreat, WA.
REPORTS TO : Stadium Supervisor
TYPE: Casual
Basketball WA are looking to employ a Venue Duty Officer for casual work at the Bendat Basketball Centre.
Responsibilities:
- Complete day to day operations required of the facility
- May include opening the Centre and/or Closing the Centre
- Safety and presentation of the facility
- Reporting to co-workers and managers at the end of each shift with clear communication
- Assume responsibility for the facility including 8 courts, conference facility,
- Front face of the Centre, greeting patrons
- Lead Emergency Response Procedures as required
- Enforcing rules of Centre ie Conditions of Entry, guidelines for court hire, etc.
- Security of building including locking and arming building.
Duties include:
- Customer Service- greet and serve customers
- Take phone calls
- Greet contractors
- Manage and record facility faults
- Input bookings as required
- Take payments and complete end of day reporting
- Review and update operational procedures when instructed
- Inspect and prepare courts for play and competitions.
- Preparing and packing down of functions
- Complete duty checklists including cleaning and court inspections, safety and emergency equipment checks, washing of mops, etc.
- Incident Reporting (first aid and other)
- General cleaning duties
- Stocktake and record keeping
- Monitor overall activity in the building at all times
- Manual labour to set up events and functions (this includes volleyball posts, tables, chairs, etc.)
- Selling Merchandise
- Parking duties such as checking in VIP parking clients
Requirements for the role:
- Availability must include weekdays and Saturdays and/or Sundays (opening hours could be anywhere between 5:45am for an opening shift to 1am as the latest time a closing shift could finish)
- Good communication skills
- Good decision making skills
- Honest, reliable and responsible
- Have own transport
- Able to work with minimal amounts or no supervision
- Professional
- Ability to follow procedures and update procedures with improvements where necessary
- Take initiative for problem solving
- Be able to undertake some physical work.
- Working with Children’s Check (WWC)
- First Aid Certificate
Training provided:
- Chief Fire Warden training
- Provide First Aid and CPR refresher courses
- Emergency Response Procedures (completed in house)
