Basketball WA (BWA) would like to encourage all levels of basketball referees to take part in a personal development opportunity being provided by BWA in partnerships with Wheelchair Sports WA (WSWA). Run over a series of weeknights, BWA and WSWA will be running a number of workshops for officials interested in learning more about wheelchair basketball.
The workshops will take place over a series of weeknight evenings with referees being paid for their time. You will be guided and mentored with current internationally qualified referees and National Panel referees.
Going forward there are genuine opportunities to become part of the Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League Panel of referees and/or the National Wheelchair Basketball League Panel of referees.
BWA would like to add that we are fully supportive of wheelchair basketball in Perth and would like to see as many referees as possible learn about this exciting new opportunity. Please also note that refereeing wheelchair basketball will not affect future WABL or SBL appointments.
The workshops will take place on the following evenings and please note you are not required to attend all sessions. Referee coaches will make recommendations as to which sessions would suit your current level of refereeing. All sessions at the Herb Graham Recreation Centre:
Monday 18th June – 6:00pm – 9:20pm
Tuesday 19th June – 6:00pm – 9:20pm
