Former SBL player Travis Moore and long term SBL Referee David Bull have been elected by the SBL Clubs to join the SBL Commission.
Travis, a well-known figure throughout the Western Australian basketball community, has played over 480 games in the SBL with the Rockingham Flames. Travis’ extensive basketball resumé also includes representing WA, playing at College in America as well as coaching roles at WABL and SBL level. Travis has also previously served on the SBL Commission and has extensive business experience.
David has served the last two years on the SBL Commission after officiating for 23 years in the SBL as well as the NBL and WNBL. He has extensive experience supporting the training and development of young referees and coaching at a WABL level. David has extensive business and governance experience and will support the ongoing knowledge and governance of the SBL Commission.
The BWA Board proudly also announces the appointment of Melissa Sinfield to the Commission. Melissa has a decorated playing career in the SBL and WNBL and has a strong financial background as well as having been involved in coaching at SBL Level.
To maintain the knowledge base of the Commission the BWA Board have re-appointed Andy Stewart for a 1-year term and Evan Stewart (representing the BWA CEO) to the Chief Commissioner role for a further year.
With The SBL entering an exciting new era of the NBL1 West competition in 2021, the Board believe that the SBL Commission represents an appropriate balance of stability and new voices across a diversity of skills sets that will support the ongoing operations of the Competition.
