Basketball WA are delighted to announce a new partnership with the Varsity Group to help provide funding and support to WA’s premier social basketball competition, the Perth Metro Basketball League (PMBL).
BWA’s Gareth Allen commented,
“Our main concern isn’t just running a great social basketball competition, but rather fostering a supportive basketball community, one which nurtures the health and wellbeing of our participants while simultaneously providing them with an easy avenue to play enjoyable, social basketball. With an amazing facility to call home, the State’s most experienced referees on our roster and the lowest game fees in Perth, we’re extremely lucky to have an infrastructure that supports this initiative.
As WA’s largest social basketball competition, we’re constantly searching for exciting new ways to deliver basketball to our community.
We love delivering Perth with an convenient way to play basketball, stay fit and make friends. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far and am extremely excited to be collaborating with a company who shares those same values”.
Steele Rimmer, Marketing Manager of the Varsity Group, commented,
“We’re stoked to be joining the basketball community here in Perth. We’ve always had a strong connection to the basketball scene, so getting involved with Basketball WA, the PMBL and the Players League really strengthens that relationship and gives us the opportunity to support the local crew and give back to our community.”
BWA and Varsity will be focussing on new initiatives to continue the growth of the already successful PMBL. The spotlight will shine brightly on the Players League, Perth’s only 4-quarter fully timed social basketball experience. With custom uniforms, $1,000 prize money and Championship rings up for grabs, the Players League proved to be a huge success during its inaugural 2020 Spring Season and will now introduce games to both Monday and Wednesday nights.
The PMBL and Players League 2021 Summer Season commences Monday, 7th December 2020.
