BWA Coaches Conference Line Up – 9 February 2019

Basketball WA is excited to announce the line up for their upcoming BWA Coaches Conference, headlined by Basketball Australia’s Peter Lonergan. The conference will see 10 different coaches present on a variety of topics suitable for coaches of all levels of basketball. 

The conference will be taking place on Saturday the 9th of February and will be held in the Ellis Room at the Bendat Basketball Centre. The conference is free and there is no registration required, just show up to as many of the talks as you like!

The schedule will be as follows (please note that the schedule is subject to change).

9:00am – 9:45am Peter Lonergan (Basketball Australia) – Shooting

9:45am – 10:30am Dave Naylor (Basketball WA High Performance Manager) “WA Style of Play” 

10:30am – 11:00am Josh Weir (Basketball WA Development Manager) “Strength and Conditioning for Basketball”

11:00am – 11:30am  Andrew Cooper (u18 WA Metro Gold Medal winning coach) “Scouting and Game Preparation”

11:30am – 12:15pm Luke Brennan (Basketball WA Coach Education Manager) “Skill Development”

12:15pm – 1:00pm Ben Ettridge (3 x Gold Medal winning coach at Paralympic Games and World Championships) “Building a Competitive Culture”

1:00pm – 1:30pm Stephen Charlton (Assistant Coach Australia Gliders) “Building a Coaching Mindset”

1:30pm – 2:00pm T.B.C “Traits of an SBL Player”

2:00pm – 2:45pm Luke Brennan (Basketball WA Coach Education Manager) “Coaching Grassroots Basketball”
