Basketball WA (BWA) today announced and sincerely thanked Ms Lorraine Driscoll, who is concluding her term on the BWA Board.

Ms Driscoll was appointed to the Board in August 2022 and has made a significant contribution during her tenure, drawing on her extensive executive and non-executive experience in government, private industry, and the not-for-profit sector.

In November 2022, Ms Driscoll was appointed as the Chair of the BWA Finance, Risk and Audit Committee. In this capacity, she expertly guided the committee’s work, applying her deep expertise as a Chartered Management Accountant and Certified Public Accountant. Her distinguished career, which includes senior roles such as General Manager of Strategy and Planning at Lotterywest and Director of Corporate and Commercial at the City of Canning, provided her with the strategic planning, financial management, and governance acumen to ensure strong fiscal oversight for the organisation.

On behalf of the Board and the broader basketball community BWA Board Chair Kyle Hoath extended his deepest gratitude for Lorraine’s dedication and highly professional service

 “Lorraine brought a sharp, strategic focus to her role as Chair of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.” Hoath said.

“Her leadership was invaluable in strengthening our financial frameworks and governance practices, providing the solid foundation needed to support the growth of our sport across the state.”

“We wish her all the very best in her future endeavours, which we note with pleasure include her continued contributions to the sector as a Non-Executive Director for both MSWA and the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.”
