2011 National Intensive Training Program (NITP) Announcement

It is with pleasure BWA advise that the National Intensive Training Program (NITP) squad for 2011 will be announced early next week with some fantastic new developments.

The program has been re-structured with less athletes being selected into the program with a focus on athletes with potential to make an Australian Junior squad or camp.  The upcoming program will include physical testing and a structured skill based program.

The first camp for NITP will be held at the WABC on Saturday 18th December from 10.00 – 5.00 pm.  West Coast Eagles Strength and Conditioning staff will conduct physical testing on the day and advice will then be given to ensure athletes can take the next step in their basketball career.

A squad of approx 40 athletes from throughout WA from age 14 to 17 will be announced.

The second tier Regional Academy Program (RAP) will be announced in February and work will commence shortly after this time.
