2015 U18 State Team Coaching Announcements

Basketball WA is pleased to announce the appointment of its Head Coaches for the U18 Metro and Country Men’s and Women’s State Team Programs for 2015.

Former Perth Wildcats Head Coach Rob Beveridge (Wanneroo) will head up the U18 Metro Men’s team. Beveridge has a more than impressive coaching resume having won a World Championship (U19 men), an NBL Championship (Perth) as well as numerous Australian Junior National Championships (NSW). His experience and expertise will be of immense assistance to the Basketball WA State team program.

Craig Reynolds (Willetton) returns for his second year in charge of the U18 Metro Women’s team. Having also coached State teams at the Championships in 2008 and 2010 Reynolds will look for improvement from the U18 Women to achieve a good result at the Championships.

Country stalwart Steve Hawkins (BSW) will take the reins of the U18 Country Men’s team. Hawkins is another coach who has a wealth of experience, having won at SBL level. Hawkins also has coached previously at these Championships and is sure to once again put together a hard-nosed competitive Country team.

Rounding out the appointments is Craig Watts (Pinjarra) who returns for his third year in charge of the U18 Country Women’s team. Watts has been instrumental in building the women’s program up in his previous two outings and will be looking to continue with this trend as he prepares his team for the Championships.

The U18 National Championships will be held in Ballarat from 11-18 April 2015.

Registrations for State trials are currently open but registrations for Under 18’s close Friday, 31 October at midday.
