2021 AUSTRALIAN UNDER-18 CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BE STREAMED LIVE

Basketball Australia (BA) is delighted to announce that all games of the 2021 Australian Under-18 Championships will be streamed live and free across Australia thanks to Foxtel and Kayo Freebies.

To be contested from April 10 – 17 at Eagle Stadium in Werribee (Victoria), the 2021 championships will feature 26 teams chockful of the best young men’s and women’s basketball talent from across the nation vying for the title of Australian champion.

In partnership with Australia’s leading sports streaming service, Kayo Sports, 26 of the games played on the Show Court (Court 1) including the Finals will be streamed live and free on Kayo Freebies featuring multi cameras with expert commentary.

The remaining 80 games of the 2021 championships will be streamed live without commentary and accessible via the Basketball Australia YouTube account.

BA Executive General Manager Basketball Paul Maley said this was an exciting step forward for the championships which draw attention of basketball enthusiasts both here in Australia and abroad.

“To have all games of this year’s Australian Under-18 Championships streamed live and free across the nation is a first for the event and we would like to thank Kayo Sports for their continued support of the Australian basketball elite pathway.

“Many of Australia’s leading basketballers have played in the Australian Under-18 Championships and the event is regarded as one of the world’s leading junior tournaments, attracting the attention of clubs and scouts from near and far.

“Whether streaming via your smart TV, desktop or mobile device there is no excuse to miss a minute of this year’s championships with every game available via Kayo Freebies or Basketball Australia’s YouTube account.”

Kayo Sports Director of Marketing, Kim McConnie, said: “Basketball is one of the highest participation sports in Australia, with thousands of young players taking part in the national age group championships each year. We’re thrilled to be able to bring the Australian Under-18 Championships to audiences around Australia through Kayo Freebies and help showcase the talent of the next generation of Aussie basketball stars.”
