| Basketball WA’s 3×3 Championship tournament was held on Friday 17th of April at Bendat Basketball Centre.
The tournament provided a platform for WA’s emerging 3×3 athletes to compete at the next level and win their way through to the Groundswell Festival later this year. Forty-one teams entered in total with all the action unfolding on Courts 1 and 2. For the first time ever at an event, four wheelchair teams competed. There were also 19 boys teams and 18 girls teams that took part in the Under 14 and Under 16 divisions with a total of 161 players hitting the court for 3×3 across all competitions.

International 3×3 players Jonah Paleilei (Tonga) and Sam Ashby (Great Britain) also spoke to the audience about their 3×3 journey, the opportunity to represent their countries on the big stage, and the type of athlete the 3×3 game is suited to. Both athletes currently also play in the NBL1 West. All players will have their FIBA ranking points boosted simply by participating in the 3×3 Championships.
