Basketball WA is pleased to announce the appointed members of its Performance and Pathways Advisory Group.
This highly credentialed group will provide their collective expertise to assist BWA in delivering on its performance and pathways strategic objectives across the next two years.
The Performance and Pathways Advisory Group:
Natalie Burton – An Olympian, existing BWA state team assistant coach, and performance mindset specialist.
Jonelle Morley – WA Football Head of Participation with a state-level championship coaching background.
Andy Stewart – BWA Hall of Famer with WNBL and NBL experience and extensive expertise in coaching and junior development within the club environment.
Colin Batch – Former Olympic coach and athlete (Australian Kookaburras) and WAIS Sport Program Manager overseeing women’s and wheelchair basketball.
Michael Walters – Former AFL player at the Fremantle Dockers with extensive knowledge of the high performance environment, current WA Football Indigenous and Multicultural Relationship Manager.
David Morley – High-performance specialist and academic, with consulting experience across Major League Soccer and currently supporting BWA, with a strong focus on contemporary coach development and coach developer models.
Basketball WA Chief Basketball Officer Tyrone Thwaites said the Performance and Pathways Advisory Group would give great insight into the high performance environment across a broad range of sports and work with the BWA team to ensure WA overachieves relative to potential in performance and pathways outcomes.
“We welcome the members of this group who come together from all facets of the WA and national sporting landscape.” Thwaites said.
“Importantly, this group will allow us to build on current momentum, in alignment with our Win Well strategic pillar, to enable athletes, coaches and officials to achieve performance goals.”
The Performance and Pathways Advisory Group will be chaired by incoming General Manager of Performance and Pathways, Todd Faulds. Head of Coach Development and Operations Lead Dan Donaldson will be the groups secretary.
