RYAN LENEGAN APPOINTED GM OF MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNITY GROWTH

Basketball WA is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Lenegan to the key new role of General Manager: Membership and Community Growth.

Lenegan joins Basketball WA with a wealth of experience, knowledge and connection across the sporting landscape including most recently as Chief Executive of the Perth Basketball Association for the last four years.

His role will encompass leadership across several important areas of the organisation including Regional Development, Community Development, Associations, and the Marketing & Communications team in line with BWA’s strategic plan.

Basketball WA Chief Executive Fabian Ross said he was thrilled to welcome Lenegan to the BWA team.

“Ryan is highly credentialed, but more importantly he understands the basketball ecosystem and how it functions on all levels. That inherent knowledge of associations and critical insight will be crucial to this role and building connection across all our clubs and with our members.” Ross said.

Lenegan’s reputation within the basketball community was recognised with back-to-back Basketball WA Executive of the Year awards for his work with the Perth Redbacks, but his resume also boasts valuable experience within high profile sporting environments at Football West and Hockey WA in similar membership and community growth roles.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Basketball WA and continue to contribute to a sport that has given me so much.” Lenegan said.

“My experience across various sporting codes has taught me that sustainable growth only happens through strong, transparent relationships. I look forward to supporting our clubs and associations with a clear focus on community development and regional empowerment, ensuring we deliver a bright and inclusive future for all our members across the state.”

Lenegan will commence his role with Basketball WA in early May.
