Day six of competition and WA had all four teams competing with the Metro Men first up in a highly physical contest against Vic Metro. In a tight first quarter the WA Metro Men came out strong shooting the ball well and finishing the quarter at a deadlock on 15.

In the second quarter Vic Metro broke away scoring points in transition and in the paint and despite a strong third quarter from the WA boys, Vic Metro ran out winners 83-57. For his second game in a row Mitchell McKenna top scored with 16 points and pulling in 9 rebounds along with Michael Garbellini who had 16 points and 4 assists.

The loss left the WA Metro Men finish in fourth place in their pool with a 3-3 record and having to play New Zealand in the crossover on Friday.

The WA Country Men faced Victoria Country who came out of the blocks quickly scoring points heavily in transition. In the second quarter the boys fought hard on the defensive end restricting Vic Country’s run.

Strong efforts on the inside from Joel Bellinger-Brown (21 points, 16 rebounds) and Taj Fleming (8 points, 15 rebounds) saw WA Country compete hard but in the end it was Vic Country winning 56-34.

The loss saw the WA Country Men finish in seventh place in their pool on points spread with a 1-5 record and having to play Northern Territory on Friday for 13th and 14th place overall.

In the afternoon the WA Metro Women were up against the undefeated SA Country Women who came out strong creating problems for the WA girls on the offensive end.

In the second quarter the girls found their range and managed to find scorers in Mia Satie (16 points, 8 rebounds) and Jessica Spedding (8 points) but SA Country proved why they are one of the favourites in this year’s championships winning 76-41.

The loss saw the WA Metro Women finish in 4th place in their pool with a 3-3 record and having to play NSW Country in the crossover on Friday.

In the evening the WA Country Women faced the Northern Territory Women. In a scrappy first quarter both teams struggled to assert ascendency with WA Country finishing the first quarter with a 15-11 lead.

In the second quarter the WA Country women took good care of the basketball and managed to extend their lead with Meg Ferraz (21 points, 3 steals) and Mackenzie Hoycard (15 points, 9  rebounds) pivotal. The second half saw the girls earn their first victory of the tournament running out winners 56-42.
 
The victory saw them finish in fifth place in their pool on points spread with a 1-5 record and having to play Tasmania in their crossover on Friday.
