Basketball WA is pleased to announce the appointment of Vladimir Alava to the position of Education and Training Officer, replacing Roosevelt Williams who recently resigned for personal reasons.

Vlad is no stranger to the Basketball Community having recently moved to Perth from Sydney after a stint as the Assistant Coach of the Sydney Uni Flames in the WNBL. Vlad also recently coached the Go for 2&5 Perth Lynx in a caretaker role for the second half of the 2009/10 WNBL Season and is currently in charge of the Stirling Senators WSBL team. 

Vlad’s background in teaching and his involvement in high level basketball made him an ideal candidate for the position which will oversee all of the Education and Training needs for Basketball WA and its affiliated clubs and associations.

Vlad begins with Basketball WA immediately and will begin the task of introducing himself to stakeholders to understand their specific education and training requirements.
