The Basketball WA Board is seeking to appoint two directors with:

Financial – a qualified CA or CPA with the capability and capacity to assist us build sustainable business models, providing the necessary financial oversight and leadership to assist BWA to seek investment in the sport and its social, community and sporting goals while ensuring good governance.

Community – the capacity and capability to focus on helping build inclusive, diverse communities through positive social change, providing us with the community development experience to oversee the achievement of social, community and sporting outcomes for the benefit of the broader community.

About BWA
Now – Basketball is the fastest growing sport in Western Australia for children under the age of fifteen, Basketball has 60,000 annual registered members as well as another 100,000 playing the sport recreationally, our schools and Aussie Hoops programs are seeing tremendous growth. We are represented in seven regions across Western Australia including 72 Affiliated Associations from Kununurra to Esperance. Managing a turnover of approximately $6 million and staff of 32 people, we are in an exciting phase of our organisation.

Future – Basketball WA is looking to develop products and services that provide the community with great social outcomes, ensuring the sport is relevant to the whole community from social, community and sporting outcomes. The options for basketball are many and we currently require strategic thinkers who can add value to our ever growing portfolio of products including NBL1 West, WABL, State and Country Championships, Wheelchair basketball as well as the Perth Lynx (WNBL).

Term of Appointment is for up to three years.
