Basketball bounces into Adelaide for Masters Games

Registrations are now open for the 15th Australian Masters Games to be held in Adelaide this October.

Basketball will be amongst the biggest of the 60 sports on offer at the Games, with the sport booming thanks to the prominent rise of Australians playing in the NBA and WNBA in recent times.

The Games provides the opportunity to rub shoulders with Adelaide basketball royalty in Brett Maher, a three-time NBL championship winner during a career spanning 17 years with the Adelaide 36ers, as well as a three-time Olympian (1996, 2000, and 2004).

The basketball competition will be conducted by Basketball SA, with men’s, women’s, disabled and mixed competitions on offer.

The Games are a great excuse for a week away with friends, whilst enjoying the sport you love and a busy Games social program. Apart from meeting the minimum age requirement there is no qualifying standard, so players of all levels and abilities are welcome.

New in 2015, the Airbnb Games Village will be hosted indoors in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD at the world-class Adelaide Convention Centre. The village will feature great food, drinks and nightly entertainment.

Stay tuned for further announcements, including the release of the exciting social program.
