Basketball WA Welcomes Jonelle Morley as Chief Operations Officer

With the game’s continued growth in mind, Basketball WA is proud to announce the appointment of Jonelle Morley to the role of Chief Operations Officer, from 28 June 2021.

Jonelle brings a very strong industry knowledge from her career in sport management across both the Australian Sports Commission and the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries. Her various roles including consulting with State Sporting Associations and being in charge of the KidSport program have seen her develop high level skills in implementing and managing systems, policies and processes that promote operational excellence.

She brings a vast experience in planning and reporting on strategic objectives as a senior leader as well as management of Risk Management functions to our sport.

Of course, a lot of you will know Jonelle from her extensive basketball background as a player, leader and now coach and her passion and understanding for our game aligned with her background and skills will add strongly to our organisation.

Deputy CEO, Evan Stewart, said that “BWA has been working strongly with our Associations and volunteers to grow the game over the past five years and have seen amazing growth in numbers that we love. But it does mean we need to better manage our resources to garner and continue that growth and Jonelle will add significant value to this role. We are really excited to be able to attract someone of the standing of Jonelle in our industry to Basketball WA.”
