BWA reappoints Fiona Notley, Sandra Riches and Cass Wright to the Board

Basketball WA (BWA) wishes to advise members that after the 2024 Annual General Meeting Fiona Notley, Sandra Riches and Cass Wright have been re-elected to the Board.

Fiona Notley has Chaired the BWA Board since 2022 and is a Senior Executive and Non-Executive Director with 22 years’ experience in a diverse range of roles and sectors including education, sport, and health. She is currently Curtin University’s Chief Operating Officer with a portfolio spanning a wide range of large and complex service areas including communications, people and culture, digital technologies and information management, risk, audit and compliance, health and safety, property and facilities development, engagement services that include, sport and recreation, early learning centre, health services and accommodation.

Fiona is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Master of Business Administration.

She is the current Chair of Universities Australia Deputy Vice Chancellor Corporates, Non-Executive Director and Chair of Audit and Risk Committee with Therapy Focus, Director for the Committee for Perth, and patron of Professionals@Curtin. Prior to joining Basketball WA, Fiona actively served on the Willetton Basketball Association Board, providing governance and strategy leadership.

Fiona was elected to the BWA Board for 3 years and has been reappointed as Chair.

Sandra Riches has served on the BWA Board since 2019 and has filled the role of Deputy Chair since 2022. She has also served as the Deputy Chair of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee since 2022. Sandra is a digital strategist with experience working across digital strategy and governance with large corporates and government agencies. She was CEO of one of Perth’s most successful digital agencies, instrumental in the sustainable growth from 3 to 40+ staff. In 2011 Sandra started Collaboraid, a digital strategy consultancy, to guide executives to explore and leverage digital opportunities.

Sandra is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sandra was elected to the BWA Board for 2 years and has been reappointed as Deputy Chair.

Cass Wright has been a BWA Board member since 2020 and prior to that served as Chair of the Combat Sports Commission for two and half years. Cass is a Legal Director at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA.  She heads up the Commercial and Corporate Legal team and advises businesses in commercial legal matters, regulatory compliance, board governance and privacy. Cass has practiced as a Lawyer for 20 years and is passionate about board governance and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Health Science.

Cass was elected to the BWA Board for 3 years.

Fiona, Sandra and Cass join Lorraine Driscoll, Michael Quirk and Travis Moore as the six elected Directors to the Board.
