ARENA Joondalup would become Wanneroo Basketball Association’s new home and West Perth would have the financial benefit of its own clubrooms, under Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard’s vision for the facility.

Mr Pickard outlined his plans should the City of Joondalup take over Arena’s operations from Venues West.

He said three areas needed to be addressed at Arena – a maintenance backlog, additional basketball courts for housing the WBA, and the Falcons’ facilities.

“Wanneroo Basketball Association is currently in the Joondalup Basketball Stadium that is owned by LandCorp,” he said.

“LandCorp are wishing to on-sell that land to a developer, so we need to find the WBA a new home.”
