Cougars appoint new Operations Manager

The Cockburn Basketball Association (CBA) is pleased to announce Amiria Driscoll has been named as the club’s new Operations Manager.

Following the appointment of Tyrone Thwaites as General Manager, the CBA created the new role in line with the club’s strategic direction.

Driscoll joins the association from Loftus Recreation Centre where she was Bookings and Programs Manager.

She has also held the role of Acting Centre Manager, where she significantly developed the use of facilities and holiday programs in her time there.

Originally from New Zealand, Driscoll brings operational basketball experience as the Operations Manager of Waikato Basketball where she managed the club’s competitions, staff and marketing strategy.

Driscoll will oversee CBA’s junior and senior competitions, as well as the association’s award-winning participation programs.

Incoming General Manager Tyrone Thwaites said Driscoll’s drive will push the CBA towards a future of sustainable success.

“Amiria brings leadership, energy and an unwavering commitment to assist the association in our 2018 strategic goals and beyond,” he said.

“She has experience in managing and growing both competitions and programs – which makes her a perfect fit to draw numbers to our junior competition and incredibly successful Aussie Hoops centres.

“I am excited to begin working with her later this month, it’s a very exciting time to be a part of the Cougar family.”

Cockburn Basketball Association is currently home to more than 1500 athletes of all ages and abilities and provides pathways from pre-school through to the men’s and women’s WA state league teams.

The association is excited with the energy, experience and initiative she will bring to the CBA. Driscoll will join the association full-time from January 25th.
