Covid Update

The WA Government have announced that from 6pm last night (Thursday December 23), until at least 6am Tuesday December 28, the following public health rules will apply across Perth and Peel:

  • Masks will be mandatory in all public indoor settings, this will include any indoor basketball courts in the Perth and Peel area.
  • Masks are recommended to be worn outside where physical distancing is not possible – in line with this, Basketball WA would suggest masks should be worn for any programs you club is running during this time outdoors.
  • MASKS DO NOT NEED TO WORN WHILE EXERCISING VIGOROUSLY SO PEOPLE CAN PLAY AND TRAIN WITHOUT A MASK. However, all other people in the stadium must wear a mask.
  • Please note these requirements will also apply to anyone who has been in Perth or Peel since Thursday, 16 December and are travelling to a different part of the State.

A number of potential exposure sites have been identified across Perth, including in Mirrabooka, Joondalup, Girrawheen, Perth and the CBD, Subiaco, Northbridge and Scarborough.

A comprehensive list with specific exposure dates and times at can be found here.

If you have been to any of the exposure sites, you are not permitted to attend any basketball centres, and please present for testing. Further information on COVID-19 Testing Clinics please click here.

Outside of the above, please ensure appropriate physical distancing, using SafeWA app and good hygiene practices when in stadiums. We wish you all a Merry Christmas.
