Expression of Interest – BWA Aboriginal Council

BWA Aboriginal Council

Basketball WA is committed to continuing our journey to better support Aboriginal participation (athlete, coach, official) within our sport. We are working to our vision to ‘improve the life of Western Australians through basketball’.

At Basketball WA, we invite the expertise and experiences of Aboriginal people to guide our sport to be inclusive of equal and equitable access; grow participation; harness talent and enhance pathways for Aboriginal people and communities throughout the state.

In acknowledging the diversity of Aboriginal Western Australia, we respect the lived experiences and voices from across regions, gender and ages. We aim to co-create a vibrant environment for a thriving Council who will ensure the priority task of creating, approving, and committing the Reflect RAP to action the following goals contained in the BWA Strategic Plan:

  • Increase the number of Aboriginal people with playing membership
  • Increase the number of Aboriginal coaches, officials and administrators
  • Publish and achieve all annual targets within the Reconciliation Action Plan

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. You can contact Evan Stewart or Jonelle Morley for further information or details. All we need to know is a little about you, and your experience with basketball.
