Current Australian Opals and Canberra Capitals Head Coach Carrie Graf is heading west to Perth on a 3-day trip designed to aid development of both coaches and players in Western Australia.

The National mentor will be here from the 17th-19th of May to provide Basketball WA with assistance in the development pathways of elite athletes as well as giving local coaches an opportunity to learn and hear from her experiences and thoughts on all matters coaching.

Graf will be on a busy and whirl-wind trip in Western Australia and her presence is a major bonus to basketball development in the state.

Basketball WA High Performance Manager and Perth Lynx Head Coach David Herbert endorsed Graf’s visit.

"It is fantastic for basketball in WA that someone of Carrie’s stature can come and do work with our elite athletes and help in our future development focus. Her credentials are second to none and we definitely welcome her presence, time and input in delivering the best possible opportunities to our athletes towards success on a national scale whether it be in junior nationals or seniors through the WNBL and NBL."

Basketball WA Education and Training Officer Vlad Alava also highlighted the benefits of Graf’s visit.

"Carrie Graf is a name synonymous with success at every level- state, national and international. There would not be many households at all that wouldn’t have heard of her name and along with it her achievements. She has always had a keen interest in WA basketball and her visit here is in line with her national philosophy for the advancement of the game in our country. We are thankful for her time."
