Basketball WA is proud to announce that in 2019 it has been invited to participate in the International Basketball Foundation Youth Leaders Basketball Cup.

This program began in 2018 as part of FIBA’s investment into developing leadership potential in South East Asia and we have been able to negotiate to be part of the program in 2019 with 16 other countries from Oceania and South East Asia.

BWA is committed to developing a pathway for Aboriginal athletes in Western Australia and this opportunity is one way that we hope to start providing support for this. Maddie Allen (pictured) spent the past weekend in Singapore at a leadership seminar and will be working with BWA in the coming months to run an U18 Aboriginal mixed 3×3 competition.

The winners of this tournament will qualify to travelwith Maddie to Bali in September for the IBF Youth Leaders U18 3 x 3 Cup on an all expenses paid trip! … stay tuned for more information about this tournament.
