Basketball WA is pleased to announce that former Perth Wildcats Assistant Coach Craig “CJ” Jackson will lead the Under 12 Shooting Stars Jamboree as Head Coach at the end of January.
CJ has been involved with Basketball in WA at many levels, firstly as a highly touted and successful professional player, State Basketball League Head Coach, NBL Perth Wildcats Assistant Coach, a Junior Basketball Coach and, no stranger to being in charge, BWA’s former Operations Manager.
Jackson, who was forced to take a coaching sabbatical upon his appointment as the SBL’s General Manager, will work with WA’s best up and coming juniors in a three day camp to be held at the Western Australia Basketball Centre.
Basketball WA’s Development Manager Vanessa Lock spoke of the event as a unique opportunity for players of this age to benefit not only from a renowned player, but a coach as well in his own right. “To have someone with his experience to lead our juniors is fantastic. That along with his ability to really engage his audience at all levels – I know his involvement will be of huge benefit to both the players and coaches involved”.
The BWA Under 12 Shooting Stars Jamboree runs from 27-29 January 2011.
