Redbacks’ 50th Anniversary SBL Evening

The Perth Redbacks Basketball Association is celebrating its 50th Year, having first been established in 1964.

As part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations we are opening up our doors for free entry to all spectators to the Perth Redbacks at the Men’s and Women’s State Basketball League games between the Redbacks and South West Slammers.

The fixture is on Saturday 12 July at the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre (corner Alexander Road and Robinson Avenue, Belmont), with the women’s  game tipping off at 6PM and the men’s game at 8PM.

There will be half-time entertainment for each game provided by the juniors from the Belmont Oasis Domestic competition playing the new Aussie Hoops Game of Crazy Ball; and Mia Simonette will be singing the during the men’s half time game-break.

We will also be celebrating NAIDOC Week as part of the day’s programme.

Additionally, the winning teams will be awarded the Local Drug Action Groups Drug Action Groups Trophy as part of the Drug Action Week officially scheduled events.  The key health message of Alcohol.Think Again, which relates to the responsible service and consumption of liquor, will be promoted as part of this event.

We look forward to having as many people there as possible on the night in what promises to be a great event.

David Simonette
President
