Specialist Camps Announced – Christmas School Holidays

With the success of the specialist camps held in 2014 Basketball WA is pleased to announce additional specialist camps to be held in January 2015 as part of the High Performance Program with a Shooting Camp, a Complete Player Camp and a Basketball Strength and Conditioning Camp. These specialist basketball camps will focus on specific areas of the game and will help develop and improve specific skills that are required to reach the next level.

Two of these Camps with be run under the direction of BWA High Performance Manager Brett Coxsedge. Brett has vast experience in basketball having coached for Australia, USA College and in the NBL.

The Basketball Strength and Conditioning Camp will be run by Adam Wolski who is the current Strength and Conditioning coach for the West Coast Waves in the WNBL, the Basketball WA NITP Program and the National S&C Coach for the Australian Rollers.

The BWA Shooting Camp is a one day basketball camp that concentrates on shooting technique and becoming a better scorer.

This event is for boys and girls who are currently playing WABL in Under 14 to Under 18 age groups (Born 1998-2002) from every WABL Association.

Players will receive expert coaching learning about correct shooting technique, how to score inside and outside, individual shooting drills, how to train by yourself as well as fun games and competitions. Through a series of drills each participant is sure to learn how to improve their scoring ability and bring out the best in themselves.

When: Wednesday, 28 January 2015 (9am – 2pm)
Where: WA Basketball Centre, 201 Underwood Avenue, Floreat

The cost to attend the BWA Shooting Camp is $55.00.

The BWA Complete Player Camp is a one day basketball camp that concentrates on teaching a variety of skills required at different positions in order to become a complete player, covering inside and outside play (All playing positions welcome).

This event is for boys and girls who are currently playing WABL in Under 14 to Under 18 age groups (Born 1998-2002) from every WABL Association.

Players will receive expert coaching learning post and guard skills, defensive roles, how to train by yourself as well as fun games and competitions. Through a series of drills each participant is sure to learn what skills are required to become a complete player and bring out the best in themselves.

When: Thursday, 29 January 2015 (9am – 2pm)

The cost to attend the BWA Guard Camp is $55.00.

Brett Coxsedge (High Performance Manager for BWA) will head coach the camps, with the assistance of many other experienced coaches.

Adam Wolski is now running a strength and conditioning camp for Under 16 and Under 18 WABL athletes in the Christmas holidays. This camp is designed to help athletes take the guesswork out of pre-season training.

Athletes will learn a systematic approach to planning their basketball conditioning to ensure they are in the best shape possible going into the new WABL season.

With Adam’s 4 week take home program you’ll be ready to perform on court.

U18’s CAMP (WABL Athletes born 1998 & 1999)
Friday, 9th January 2015, 12pm – 2:30pm @ WABC

The cost to attend the Basketball Strength and Conditioning Camp is $50.
