Basketball WA would like to congratulate the following referees on their successful selection to officiate in the Under 14 Club Championships and National schools tournament to be held later this year.

Basketball WA received numerous nominations for the tournaments and for the first time ever, a fitness test was used as part of the selection criteria.

Education and Training Officer Vlad Alava was pleased with the final make-up of referees selected to go to the tournaments from a development perspective.

“This year’s group of officials have all shown tremendous commitment towards improving their referee skills and experience. We have five who are going away in their first national tournaments and five of the eight selected are current members of the State Referee Development Program. We see these tournaments as vital piece in the development pathway towards officiating at higher levels and the experience and feedback that our referees will receive while away will hold them in good stead for the future.”
