U16 SPP Trials & Registration

Registrations for the under 16 State Performance Program (SPP) trials are not currently open.

The State Performance Program is the first portion of state team selection and athletes wishing to represent Western Australia at the Australian Junior Championships must be selected in this program to be considered.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility for the SPP program will be determined by the athlete’s year of birth and residential address, not their association.

All athletes wishing to trial for the 2024 under 16 SPP program must be born in 2009 or 2010

METRO ATHLETES

Athletes trialling for the METRO STATE PERFORMANCE PROGRAM MUST have a current residential address located in the metropolitan area and be a registered Basketball WA member

COUNTRY/REGIONAL ATHLETES

Athletes trialling for the COUNTRY STATE PERFORMANCE PROGRAM MUST have a current residential address that is classified as regional

Athletes that are located in the following regions are classified as COUNTRY athletes

• Kimberley
• Pilbara
• Gascoyne
• Mid-West
• Wheatbelt
• Peel
• Southwest
• Great Southern
• Goldfields-Esperance

If you have questions about the eligibility for a particular program, please contact Michelle Fletcher (Michelle.fletcher@basketballwa.asn.au) prior to completing the registration form as registering for the incorrect program will not guarantee you a position at the trials

PLEASE NOTE: To ensure a fair opportunity to athletes, registrations will be closed if the program capacity is reached prior to the closing date

At the conclusion of the SPP camps, the 2024 under 16 WA STATE TEAMS will be selected and start the team preparation for the under 16 Australian Junior championships (date to be advised)
