Under 12 Shooting Stars Jamboree – A hit!

The second Basketball WA Under 12 Shooting Stars Jamboree was held over the weekend at the WA Basketball Centre and was considered by all to be a huge success.

Players in attendance had previously taken part in BWA Shooting Stars Skills Days conducted at Associations throughout Western Australia.  Catching the eye of some of WA’s top coaches, these players were identified as some of WA’s best up and coming juniors and were selected to attend the three day camp under guidance of former Wildcats Assistant Coach Craig “CJ” Jackson.

The camp consisted of a mixture of skills and tournament play and had coaches of Waves, State Teams, SBL and WSBL callibre in attendance.

The Shooting Stars Program is the first stage of the BWA High Performance Pathway.  Opportunities following the Jamboree include the chance to attend trials for the Under 12 School Sport WA team and following on from the Jamboree, the Under 14 Hot Shot Program which is an entry point into both NITP and RAP programmes.
