Under 20 State Team Appointments

Basketball WA is pleased to announce Glenn Clarke and Trevor Pugh as the Head Coaches for the 2011 Under 20 State Teams.

Basketball WA High Performance Coach/Manager David Herbert was pleased with the appointments.

"It is fantastic to have two well recognised and respected coaches representing our state team program."

Glenn Clarke (Women) recently lead the Willetton Tigers to back-to-back premierships in the State Basketball League and has led the Under 20 Women to a bronze medal in 2009.

"Glenn has had recent success in both the Women’s SBL and Under 20 State Team programs, so it is great to have him back for a third year."

Trevor Pugh (Men) has been a long time coach at the Wanneroo Basketball Association at both WABL and SBL level and takes the reins from previous Head Coach Brad Kidner.

"Trevor brings a wealth of experience with him, having been a former AIS athlete and having spent the last three years as an assistant coach to Brad Kidner with the Under 20 Men" said Herbert.

WA has had plenty of success at the Under 20 Australian Junior Championships (AJC) in recent years and Herbert was confident that this would continue.

"We believe that these appointments place Basketball WA in a good position to continue its success at the Under 20 AJC level."

Athlete nominations for the team trials are currently open, more information can be found here or by contacting Basketball WA on 6272 0741.
