The Alcohol. Think Again West Coast Waves today announce United Community Credit Union as proud major sponsors of the team for the 2011/12 season.
United Community Credit Union is a community focused financial institution, with a direct emphasis on supporting a wide range of initiatives in local communities throughout the country.
As part of their WA focus, United Community have come on board with the West Coast Waves, providing support for the upcoming season.
On the exciting new partnership, Basketball WA CEO Rick Smith says: “We are delighted to welcome United Community as our most recent partner and major sponsor of the West Coast Waves.”
“United Community’s values and community focus align with our own and we look forward to working with United Community to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes and benefits to the community as a whole.”
The West Coast Waves are looking to build on last year’s performance, where they enjoyed their most successful season in a decade.
Yesterday’s announcement of signing WA Olympian Rohanee Cox to their playing roster is indicative of the team’s commitment to further developing WA’s young talent and cementing their rise up the WNBL ladder.
United Community State Manager Michelle Coehlo says of the partnership: “United Community is very pleased to be partnering with Basketball WA , who play a vital part in the community by bringing together people from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life.”
“Specifically, United has chosen to support the West Coast Waves who provide young female basketballers in WA with the opportunity to reach the highest levels of their sport to become the young rising stars of tomorrow.”
“As a member owned organisation, United has its members’ best interests at heart and we are constantly looking for ways to support local organisations dedicated to the communities in which we live and work.”
United Community now join the team’s naming rights sponsor Healthway (with the Alcohol. Think message) as the teams major supporters for the 2011/12 season.
