WA Basketball Centre Naming Rights

VenuesWest yesterday announced that they have secured naming rights for the WA Basketball Centre. This announcement was made yesterday morning by the Minister for Sport & Recreation, the Hon. Mia Davies. As part of this partnership, the WA Basketball Centre will be known as the Bendat Basketball Centre for the next 21 years.

VenuesWest have exclusive rights to the naming of the WA Basketball Centre and have negotiated the terms of this arrangement. Basketball WA was not involved in making the announcement on Wednesday.

After discussions with VenuesWest, Basketball WA would like to reassure the basketball community that this is a sponsorship arrangement. There has been some misrepresentation in the media that the WA Basketball Centre has been named simply in honour of Jack Bendat, this is not the case. The naming rights have been secured by a financial contribution that will benefit Basketball WA through the Co-Management Agreement with VenuesWest.

Basketball WA will work closely with VenuesWest, through the Co-Management process, to ensure the naming rights are reflected appropriately throughout the Stadium.
