WA ready to host Men’s National Program

The Australian Men’s National Team, the Boomers, hit Perth this weekend for the start of their week long camp which concludes with their game against the Chinese National team at the WA Basketball Centre on Sunday 9 June at 2:00pm.

As we get ready to welcome the Boomers we thought we would update the WA basketball community on some exciting initiatives over the next week.

Limited tickets remain for the Boomers game at the WA Basketball Centre so make sure you secure yours before it’s too late, tickets are available from $15ea or $65 for families. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and can be purchased either online (click here), call 1300 136 122 or visit your nearest Ticketmaster outlet. Remaining tickets are selling fast so be sure to secure yours to avoid missing out.

Junior Champions Premium Valet
Basketball Australia is pleased to announce the winner of the group bookings competition that has been going for the past two weeks. Fraser Brown completed a group booking for their junior team and has had his booking upgraded to 16 VIP courtside seats on Sunday 9 June at the WA Basketball Centre.

Meet the Players after the Game
Basketball Australia is excited to announce that fans will get the chance to meet the entire Boomers team and get photos and autographs after the game on Sunday 9 June at the WA Basketball Centre. In continuing with the focus on community basketball on the day, the Boomers will be available after the game for everyone to meet their heroes in person.

Coaches Clinic with Boomers Head Coach Andrej Lemanis
Boomers Head Coach Andrej Lemanis will be conducting a coaches clinic on Tuesday 4 June at the WA Basketball Centre for coaches of all levels in WA. Coaches will get to watch the Boomers train for one hour (all Boomers training sessions are closed to the public) and then Andrej will conduct an hour long clinic once the training session finishes.

Boomers Players in the Community
Thanks to Basketball Australia and the Boomers, there will be a small number of opportunities for people to meet the Boomers leading up to their camp. One such opportunity will see WA product and former Perth Wildcat Luke Nevill head to the WA Basketball Centre on Saturday 1 June to meet players from the local Perry Lakes domestic competition between 11:00am – 12:00pm. If you’re around the WA Basketball Centre make sure you drop in and say hi to Luke and grab an autograph or a photo!

Aussie Hoops join the Boomers
Two local Aussie Hoops centres will be featured at half time of the Boomers games against China in an exciting opportunity for some of our young players. Both the Perth and Kalamunda centres will be featured on the International stage to showcase basketball of all levels.

Basketball WA looks forward to hosting the team at the home of basketball in WA over the next week and we look forward to seeing everyone at the WA Basketball Centre on Sunday 9 June as we showcase WA basketball on the International stage.
