Basketball WA would like to express our heartfelt condolences on learning of the passing of Laura Gillam.

Laura Gillam became a life member in 1957 and was recognised for her overall contribution to basketball.

She was one of the first to support the cause of women’s basketball in WA and was instrumental in establishing the “Women’s Amateur Basketball Association of Western Australia” in July 1957, being elected as Vice President in 1959 and secretary in the 1960’s.
