Basketball WA would like to express our heartfelt condolences on learning of the passing of Murray Treseder.
Murray came to Perth from Victoria in the mid 90โ€™s to coach the Perth Breakers and the Womenโ€™s ITC Squad, working across WAIS and Basketball WA. He took the Breakers to the Grand Final in 1998-99, losing to the AIS led by Lauren Jackson. He then took over as National Coach of the Rollers after the Sydney Olympics, leading them to silver in Athens in 2004.
A strong supporter of the female pathway across the ITC squad and the Lynx for over 10 years, Murray helped develop some of WAโ€™s best talent and was a stalwart of female and wheelchair basketball in WA and Australia.
We send our thoughts to Murray’s family during this time.
