2025 Annual Basketball WA Membership Fee Update

Dear Members,

Thank you for being an important part of the Basketball WA community. We greatly appreciate your passion and commitment to the sport we all love.

We would like to inform you that, following careful consideration, the annual Basketball WA membership fee will increase by 5% ($2.09), effective 20th January 2025. This will bring the total annual fee to $43.84 (inclusive of GST and transaction fees).

Why the Adjustment?

While we strive to keep costs as low as possible, rising operational expenses have made this adjustment necessary. Key factors include:

• CPI-related Increases: Like many organisations, Basketball WA has faced rising costs due to inflation.
• Significant Insurance Premium Increases: Our insurance which covers our playing members have risen by 47.3% from 2024 to 2025 due to global trends and an increase in claims on the policy. Despite this, we have worked closely with our insurance broker to ensure premiums remain as competitive as possible.

Supporting Our Members

In 2025 Basketball WA will continue to absorb the transaction fee and GST (of our fee). By doing so, we aim to minimise the financial impact on our members.

We understand that any fee increase can be challenging, and we appreciate your understanding and continued support. Your membership directly contributes to the growth and development of basketball across Western Australia, ensuring we can provide quality programs, services, and a safe environment for all participants.

Some of our members may be eligible for the Government KidSport Voucher initiative. KidSport enables eligible children aged 5 to 18 to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance towards fees.
