The Board of Basketball WA supports a First Nations Voice to Parliament.

We vow to recognise the gaps in equity and equality for the WA First Nations basketball community and strive to co-create meaningful ways for inclusion at grass roots and co-build the journey for high performance talent.

We will listen to First Nations basketball community to ensure culturally appropriate support and pathways that will inspire and encourage Aboriginal basketball players, coaches, referees and administrators.

The Board’s support for a First Nations Voice to Parliament is our public statement of commitment. We acknowledge and understand that to enact meaningful change, we support the referendum to alter the Australian Constitution that will recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and the Voice to Parliament.

Basketball WA acknowledges the varied views of our staff, associations. clubs and individuals and we encourage our Basketball family to take the time and inform themselves with appropriate information in order to make an informed decision.
