Basketball WA is saddened to hear of the recent passing of long serving, and active, scoretable official Kevin McLaughlin.

Kevin has been an active scoretable official for over 20 years, having commenced as a technical official in 1992.

Within WA Kevin is a well-known and loved scoretable official who has been active at SBL, including coordinating the East Perth Eagles SBL scorebench and helping out at numerous other Associations. Within the SBL competition Kevin has been acknowledged numour times, including being appointed to various SBL Grand Finals and claiming the Scoretable Official of the Year award in 2000.

In addition to his role at SBL Kevin has also worked at NBL, WNBL and NWBL levels. Kevin has regularly assisted at Australian Junior Championships hosted in WA, as well as during WABL finals.

On behalf of the officiating community in Western Australia, Basketball WA extends its condolences to Kevin’s family.

A Requiem Mass will be held on Tuesday 28 June at 1:00pm at the Infant Jesus Parish Church (47 Wellington Road, Morley).
