After a lengthy process, it is my great pleasure to officially announce the coaching staff for the Perth Wheelcats for season 2010 will comprise of Lee Nott (Head Coach) and Kelvin Browner (Assistant Coach/Mentor).
During the process it was clear that Lee was the best person to lead the Cats going forward, after successfully assisting both Ben Ettridge (Wheelcats) and John Triscari (Stars) over the past 18 months, as well as leading the State Junior Team during this period. Wheelchair Sports WA is extremely fortunate to have someone of Lee’s passion, skills and potential involved with the basketball program and I am sure he will prove to be a fantastic successor to Ben and continue the great success the team has come accustomed to.
Kelvin Browner (KB) has been involved with wheelchair basketball in various capacities over a long (I won’t give your age away KB!) period of time. His involvement in basketball includes playing, coaching, teaching full time at a specialist basketball school (Woodvale SHS), as well as being the Team Manager of the Rollers for the past two Paralympic Games. He brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the coaching team and will be the ideal person to help develop the team during this transition phase.
Best of luck to the Wheelcats and the new coaching staff as they look to create yet another piece of history in 2010.
