Saturday Super Clinic A Success

Basketball WA’s inaugural Coaches Super Clinic was heralded with much success after almost seventy coaches attended the whole day event.

With four key speakers in CJ Jackson, Shawn Dennis, Kennedy Kereama and Alan Black holding court for ninety minute sessions throughout the day, the event brought four of WA’s best coaching minds under the same roof on the same day.

WA coaches ranging from domestic club coaches through to SBL mentors were taken through specifics relating to individual and team offensive and defensive development. There was also a segment on international basketball standards by new West Coast Waves Head Coach and current NZ Tall Fern mentor Kennedy Kereama covered during the day.

Basketball WA’s Education and Training Officer Vlad Alava was extremely pleased with the turnout and support the Super Clinic received.

"The aim was to give our coaches access and exposure to some of the best minds in the business and the support the local coaching community gave towards this event was tremendous. They lapped up the information and you would be hard-pressed not learning anything new or productive from the four guys out there today no matter what level you coach."

"The success is of this event certainly suggests that it is something that we need to continue on annual basis to help coach development."

The event continues Basketball WA’s drive towards making Coach Education a priority area in the game’s development across WA.
